Project Closing, Documentary Gala, Competition Award Ceremony
Traditional Sports Gala Program was Held in Ankara
The 'From Tradition to Future, from Sports to Brotherhood' project, carried out under the coordination of Kepenk Youth Association, was carried out with a total of 5 partner institutions. In the project, training, experience and promotional activities about traditional, local and ethno sports were carried out. Archery was held in Bosnia and Herzegovina, oil wrestling in Macedonia, canoeing in Sweden and a traditional sports festival was held in Sivas. In addition to sports activities hosted by overseas project partners, interviews, panels and workshops were held about traditional sports. He took part in documentaries and international photography competitions within the scope of the project. In the opening speeches, Kepenk youth association president Mahmut ÇELİKUS and Yunus Emre Institute vice president Abdullah Kutalmış YALÇIN took the floor. The program continued with the Şed siege theatre, the first screening of the traditional sports documentary and the award ceremony of the traditional sports international photography competition. A plaque was presented to the director of the documentary, Mustafa Selim ÇELİKUS.
In the competition, Bernard RECIRDO from the Philippines won the first prize with his photo of dragon boat racing, Deni DAHNIEL from Indonesia won the second prize with his photo of Pencak Silat sport, and Dilara İrem SANCAR from Turkey won the third prize with her photo of archery sport.
The first prize was received by Emil GARSİA, the third secretary of the Philippine Embassy, and the second prize by the second diplomat of the Indonesian Embassy, Mr. Fikriyani RIDUAN. The diplomats generally talked about the rapprochement between the two countries and the value they attach to their traditions in their countries, and thanked the organizers of the organization. A plaque of appreciation was presented to the jury president of the competition, Anadolu Agency Visual News Director Fırat YURDAKUL, and YURDAKUL drew attention to the importance of traditional sports and the power of visual language. The program ended after the presentation of plaques to the project partners and those who contributed and a group photo.

The gala program of our project "From Tradition to the Future, from Sports to Brotherhood" was held at Litai Hotel Ankara. The program, which started with the opening of the traditional sports exhibition, was hosted by project coordinator Ahmed Cihad ÇELİKUS.
Following the project promotional film, the opening speeches were made by Kepenk Youth Association and Tradesmen and Craftsmen Association chairman Mahmut ÇELİKUS and Yunus Emre Institute vice president Assoc. Dr. Abdullah Kutalmış YALÇIN took the floor.
The 'Şed Siege' ceremony was performed by the theater team consisting of ESDER member tradesmen. This time, he was presented as a journeyman arrow and bow production tradesman who would become a master in the theater. The theater, which was appreciated by the audience, was recorded with 3 cameras.
The First Screening of Traditional Sports Documentary was held, and a plaque of appreciation was given to Mustafa Selim ÇELİKUS, the director of the film, which was shot by a team of 20 people in 4 countries. In his thank you speech, Mr. Mustafa said, "There are few documentaries shot on this subject and they tell about a single sport, we have produced a more comprehensive content."
At the end of the night, the Traditional Sports International Photography Competition award ceremony was held, and after a brief explanation of the 25 works that received honorable mention/exhibition awards and the sports in the work, the top three were presented.
Dilara İrem SANCAR from Turkey won the third prize with her photo of archery.
Second prize was awarded to Deni DAHNIEL from Indonesia with his photo of Pencak Silat sport.
